Boys Hope/Girls Hope

We have been given the opportunity to give back to our community in a big way! Over the last year a group of members have taken up the new project of building a vegetable garden for the students at Baltimores “Boys Hope/Girls Hope” houses.

This has been a wonderful learning experience for both the students and the members, as they learn which plants can be grown where, along with which plants exactly ARE good plants and which are weeds! Learning where ones food comes from is a valuable lesson, even if it is often quite difficult to get kids to eat vegetables. 😉

We look forward to continuing our work with this organization, and helping to educate the youth who participate in the program! For more information regarding this wonderful program, please see their website https://bhghbaltimore.org .

Meeting 10/5/2022

At our monthly meeting for October we had a delightful presentation from Claire Jones about drying flowers/plants and how to use them for decoration and design. Also, being that she is the President of our Garden Club District, she gave us a rundown on how Garden Clubs are organized and run throughout our area and even up to the national level.

We also made mugs arrangements for Meals on Wheels using mugs, greens, and flowers contributed by members. This was very appreciated the last time we did it, and so we had quite a good time doing it again!
